Self care is
the best kind of love

Your tattoo is your responsibility after you leave my studio please follow instructions below.

When you leave

1. Wash your hands every time before handling your new tattoo.

2. I will be applying a breathable band-aid (tegaderm) on your new tattoo.

3. You will need to leave the breathable band-aid on for at least 24 hours (up to 3-7 days).

4. Take off the breathable band-aid, if you feel any burning or stinging sensation CONTACT ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE PLEASE!

Good to know

5. You can shower anytime as you would like as long as you just let the water go down your tattoo (never scrub directly and use non scented or antibacterial soap).

6. Avoid the sun. The breathable band-aid does not protect from UV rays. You will feel it very sensitive if it’s exposed to direct sunlight.

7. You might feel soreness / tenderness like you worked. This is normal. Advil or Tylenol will help if you feel swollen or soreness.

8. A Plasma pouch ( ink sack) under the band aid is normal . This is a mixture of your plasma and ink pigment. The plasma is working hard to rebuild your skin.

Band-Aid Removal

9. If your tattoo builds up any discharge underneath the band-aid (this will vary person to person) grab a paper towel and gently pat it downwards squeezing the juices/liquids out . Do not rub!

10. An itchy tattoo is normally. It is part of the tattoo healing process. Lightly pat yourself above the Band aid (Never scratch directly).

11. To remove the band-aid place your tattoo under running water and gently peel off (preferably in shower) the water will help peel the band-aid more easier and less irritation.

12. Once the band-aid is removed, clean your tattoo at least 2 times a day with warm water and antibacterial soap or non scented soap (Dial, dove unscented, or cetaphil unscented)

13. Pat dry your tattoo with a paper towel.

Soothing the itch

14. Apply a very thin layer of any non scented lotion  (never apply a thick layer , a thick layer can be a cause of bacteria accumulation which will lead to infection) aveeno, aquaphor, and Lubriderm are some suggestions.

15. If itchy, apply non scented lotion to sooth the itchiness(never scratch directly).

Scabs are normal

16. You might peel or scab (ugly phase is normal and will depend person to person) Apply a thin coat of non-scented lotion and rub lightly.

17. Do not pick at your scabs. To prevent from scabs from coming off please wear clean loose clothes (use clean bed sheets when sleeping).

18. Don’t let anyone or your beautiful fur babies touch your fresh tattoo (bacteria can infect your new tattoo).

Do not do these

19. No pools, jacuzzi’s, baths, beaches or sauna for 2 -3 weeks.

20. Take at least a week off the gym  (no sweating).

21. Everything you will be doing will be to help your skin heal -Please drink a lot of water to stay hydrated (Pedialyte or Gatorade will help to get your energy back. Eat lots of protein to heal faster.)
